Welcome to The Royal Hotel.

The Royal Hotel sits in the centre of the harbour town of Kirkcudbright. A family run business comprising 14 en-suite twin/double/family bedrooms (dogs welcome in selected rooms), traditional, well-patronised public bar, where all the latest sports action is available on Sky Sports, a lounge/games room, with a pool table, & darts lane, a dining room (40), & self-contained function suite (120) ideal for all celebrations.

On the 1st floor we have a comfortable residents' lounge which houses an extensive library of DVDs, Playstation games, books & board games for those rainy afternoons!!

At The Royal Hotel we pride ourselves on our Home-cooked food- from a Roast of the Day to the humble toastie- our range of draught & bottled beers, & our warm hospitality. We also like to make both children & dogs welcome, as long as their parents/owners are well-behaved!!

As well as being a thriving harbour with an active fishing fleet, Kirkcudbright is renowned for its artistic connections, having attracted many artists from not only Scotland, but around the world!! It boasts art galleries & a museum that stage exhibitions throughout the year, & many local craft shops.

The town prides itself on its summer festivites - the weekly Scottish nights every Thursday evening during the summer, with pipe-bands & fun & games for all the family, culminating with a Tattoo-night, with lone piper playing from the Castle walls; the annual Jazz festival in June, which attracts world famous musicans, & fans from near & far; the Wickerman Festival; the Vintage car rally; to name but a few!!
